Electrical work is bought on trust. Homeowners in Vienna, Oakton and Arlington are handing a stranger the keys to their panel, and commercial clients are protecting expensive equipment. A clean, professionally branded van does more to establish that trust in the driveway than anything said at the door. GInk Wraps and Signs produces electrical contractor van wraps and fleet lettering from our Reston studio.
Why a Wrapped Van Wins Residential Electrical Work
Residential electrical is close to an ideal advertising scenario. The van parks in a driveway for two to four hours in a neighbourhood where every house was built in the same decade with the same wiring — which means the same problems are coming for the neighbours.
Northern Virginia’s housing stock makes this specific. The 1960s and 1970s ramblers and split-levels across Falls Church, Annandale and Springfield are hitting panel replacements, aluminium branch wiring and service upgrades all at once. Newer townhouse developments in Ashburn and South Riding are hitting EV charger installs at the same rate. The neighbour who sees your van while they are thinking about a charger is the cheapest lead you will ever get.
An unmarked van in that driveway produces nothing.
Vehicles We Wrap for Electrical Contractors
- Cargo vans — Transit, ProMaster, Sprinter, Express: the standard electrical service vehicle
- Compact vans — Transit Connect and similar, for service calls and estimators
- Pickup trucks with racks and utility bodies
- Box trucks for commercial and industrial crews
- Bucket trucks for line and exterior lighting work
- Trailers carrying generators, spools and equipment
We produce full and partial commercial wraps as well as cut-vinyl lettering and decal packages. Vans with ladder racks and roof equipment need the layout planned around the hardware, which we work out from photos of your actual vehicle rather than a stock template.
What Belongs on an Electrical Van
- Company name, large enough to read across a cul-de-sac
- "Licensed and insured" — the single most reassuring phrase on an electrical vehicle
- Virginia contractor licence number, built into the layout rather than stuck on afterwards
- Phone number, sized for the neighbour across the street, not the customer standing beside it
- Two or three services — panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, lighting. Not a list of fifteen.
- 24/7 or emergency service if you offer it — storm-season outages here make that valuable
- Reflective accents for vans working roadside or after dark
Generators and Storm Season
Northern Virginia loses power. Summer derechos and thunderstorms take out lines, and winter ice storms do it again from another direction. Standby generator installation is one of the strongest seasonal revenue lines for electrical contractors in this region, and it is bought almost entirely on recall — people decide during an outage and call whoever they remember.
If you install generators, that belongs on the vehicle year-round, not just in July. The van is what does the remembering for them.
Materials Built for Year-Round Service
We print on 3M and Avery Dennison premium cast vinyl, laminated over every panel. Cast vinyl conforms to van corrugations and door seams without lifting, and the laminate handles the winter salt and brine on the Toll Road and the Beltway as well as full summer sun in a client’s driveway.
Vinyl also protects the paint beneath it, so a leased van comes back in better condition than an unwrapped one — and graphics come off cleanly when the vehicle is turned in or sold.
Everything Else Under One Roof
- Yard signs for job sites and completed installs
- Business cards and postcards and flyers for neighbourhood follow-up
- Carbonless invoices and service tickets
- Shop and warehouse signage
- Trade and home show displays and banners and flags
- Equipment and panel labels, and safety decals

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does an electrical van wrap take?
Design usually runs a few days depending on revisions, then installation is typically one to two days per van. We schedule fleets so only one or two vehicles are out at a time.
Can you wrap around a ladder rack?
Yes. Racks, conduit carriers and roof equipment are normal on electrical vans. We plan the layout so key information is not hidden behind hardware, and we remove and reinstall what needs to come off.
Should I include my licence number?
Yes — and design it in from the start. On electrical work it reads as legitimacy rather than fine print, and it is far tidier than a decal applied later in whatever corner is free.
How long will the wrap last?
With premium cast vinyl and laminate, five to seven years is typical here. Garaged and hand-washed vans reach the top of that range; vans that live outside through NoVA winters land nearer the bottom.
