Landscaping is the most visible trade there is. Your crews spend the day parked on the street in the neighbourhoods you want to grow in, working in full view of every house on the block. A wrapped truck and trailer turn that time into advertising. GInk Wraps and Signs produces landscaping truck and trailer graphics from our Reston studio.
The Trailer Is the Billboard
Most landscaping companies wrap the truck and forget the trailer, which is backwards. The enclosed or open trailer is a large flat rectangle at eye level, parked on the street for hours at a time. It is the single best advertising surface in the trade, and it is usually blank.
Trailers also outlive trucks. A truck gets traded, but a trailer stays in the fleet for a decade, which makes graphics on it exceptionally good value per year.
The neighbourhood effect is real in Northern Virginia: dense HOA communities across Reston, Ashburn, South Riding and Burke where one visible lawn sells the next three. When a homeowner sees the same trailer on their street every Tuesday, and their neighbour’s yard looks sharp, that is the referral engine.
What We Wrap for Landscaping Companies
- Enclosed trailers — the highest-impact surface in the fleet
- Open landscape trailers — mesh side panels and gate graphics
- Pickup trucks — door lettering, bed sides, tailgates
- Dump trucks and dump-body trucks
- Cargo vans for irrigation, lighting and maintenance crews
- Snow plow trucks and salt spreaders — the winter half of the business
- Skid steers and compact equipment — decal packages
We produce full commercial wraps, partial wraps and lettering, and stripes and accent graphics for fleets that want a consistent look without full coverage on every unit.
Four Seasons, One Fleet
Northern Virginia landscaping is a year-round business run in four distinct modes, and most companies only advertise one of them.
- Spring — cleanups, mulch, aeration, seeding, bed work
- Summer — weekly mowing, irrigation service, hardscape and patio installs
- Fall — leaf removal, the largest seasonal revenue spike of the year here, plus overseeding and winterisation
- Winter — snow removal, plowing, salting and ice management for residential and commercial contracts
Snow is the one worth being deliberate about. Commercial snow contracts are signed in the autumn, and homeowners look for a plow contact during the first real storm — not before. If you plow, put it on the vehicle year-round. A truck that reads mowing only in October is invisible to the person who will be searching for a plow in January.
The same logic applies in reverse: a plow truck that carries your full brand through winter is doing spring-cleanup marketing while it clears the lot.
What Belongs on a Landscaping Vehicle
- Company name, readable from across a street
- Core services — lawn care, hardscaping, irrigation, snow removal — kept to three or four
- Phone and web address, sized for a passing car
- "Licensed and insured" and any certifications that matter to commercial buyers
- Reflective elements on plow trucks and any vehicle working in the dark or roadside
Materials That Survive a NoVA Year
Landscaping vehicles get the worst of both seasons: full summer sun with no garage, then a winter of road salt and brine. We print on 3M and Avery Dennison premium cast vinyl and laminate every panel, which is what keeps colour from fading and edges from lifting through the freeze-thaw cycle.
On trailers that take repeated loading damage in one area, we often recommend panels that can be replaced individually rather than a single full wrap — cheaper to refresh, and it keeps the fleet looking new for longer.
Yard Signs and Everything Else
Landscaping is one of the few trades where a yard sign at a finished install works as well as the vehicle did. A sign left at a new patio or a fresh mulch job in an HOA street is seen by every neighbour walking past for a week.
- Corrugated yard signs and stakes
- Postcards and door-hanger flyers for route-based neighbourhood marketing
- Business cards and proposal folders for commercial bids
- Carbonless work orders and invoices
- Banners and feather flags plus displays for home and garden shows
- Office and yard signage

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I wrap the truck or the trailer first?
The trailer, in most cases. It is a bigger, flatter surface, it sits at eye level on the street, and it stays in the fleet longer than the truck pulling it. If the budget only covers one, the trailer returns more.
Can you wrap an open mesh-sided trailer?
Not the mesh itself, but yes — we mount printed panels to the rails or add lettering to the solid sections and gate. It gives you a clean advertising surface on a trailer that otherwise has none.
Will salt and plowing damage the graphics?
Laminated cast vinyl handles road salt well. Rinse the vehicle when you can through the winter, avoid high-pressure washing directly at panel edges, and the graphics will outlast the season without trouble.
When is the best time to wrap a landscaping fleet?
Late winter, before the spring rush. Vehicles are available, and the new graphics are on the road for the first cleanup calls of the season rather than arriving in July.
